The Missouri Association of REALTORS® held the second annual Summit yesterday at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Well attended, but a far cry from who all should have attended, the 300 attendees walked away with a vast amount of knowledge of upcoming trends, website portals that are competing against and for agents and brokers it appears, and heard from experts across the country on things to be aware of in the real estate industry. With over 17,000 licensed real estate agents in our fine State of Missouri, there were 300 agents and brokers at The Summit. It was a wonderful day of learning, networking and training. Everyone should have taken the time out of their schedule to attend, it was THAT GOOD.
As a seller and a buyer of real estate in Missouri, you should be hiring professionals with ongoing training and education. Interview your agent to find out how the keep abreast of the industry and changes that are always evolving. Ask them if they are involved in their local, State and National Associations. You will definitely KNOW THE DIFFERENCE by the time you finish speaking with them.
These events are also great for networking unique and specific listings to other agents that are in other regions of our state. There is always news going on in the halls of our meetings. It is a fun and exciting time to be part of real estate in Missouri.
Guest speakers from the Missouri Real Estate Commission were there as well, keeping us in line with updated forms, code of ethics, legal issues to address, and consumer protection ideas. All of these points are what make us REALTORS® not just a real estate agent.
